Yesterday marked the monthly Wildlife Commission meeting in which LDWF heard a lot of proposals, but one of the more interesting ones to me was the NOI to remove the Non-Resident Hunting Preserve License which cost $15 bucks. The way I read it, is that if this Notice of Intent becomes a final rule, it will delete that license and force people who come from out of state to buy a much higher priced license for Pen Raised Birds. Since according to the Administrative Code and the Revised Statutes, a Non-Resident Hunting Preserve License or a Basic Hunting license is what is required for the folks coming to actually do the hunting. The non-resident fee for the basic hunting is $200, which I think would severely reduce the approximately 260 individuals who come already according to the stats. None the less, if any of you know anybody that would be affected, it might be good to let them know of this.

Interesting. I have no clue what’s required in Georgia. I do know they start a month earlier than regular quail season and go a month later after the season ends.
