There are some Pitbull whisperers on here that claim to know exactly what a Pitbull is thinking at all times Thats easy -- Pitbulls don't often think about much. It is when they do think that you have to worry. I have worked for hundreds of farmers and dealt with hundreds of dogs over the years (probably thousands) and have only had problems with a very small percentage. 2 breeds come to mind -- Pits and Healers -- healers serve a purpose and their intent is usually clear, but you never know what your getting with a Pit.

The dog was shot by police on sight. Well that not like it's anything new. But it's one of the few time I agree with them.

I have been bit by ten dogs. All at other people's places. All but one was a collie or some sort of collie. Herding dogs are big time nippers, it's genetic. Big difference between a nippy collie and what pits are known to do

Where's the news article on this? Id like to know more before just bashing an entire breed. Im curious to know how many of the posters in this thread have ever actually owned a pit, or spent any extensive time around one? Millions and millions of dogs roaming this earth...I dont think its fair to base an opinion of an entire breed around one encounter someone might have had. My grandma had a poodle that was the devil, but I dont hate all poodles. Pitbulls are 6% of pet dogs and make up 60% of dog attack injuries.

An elderly couple are sharing the same hospital room in Rocky Mount, NC after being attacked by a pit bull. The78 year old wife had her foot amputated.
In the 80s I sold insurance for Prudential. There were four dog breeds that disqualified me front writing a homeowner policy. Every policy carried $100,000 of liability coverage at a minimum. I usually sold $300,000 for $4 more. Not much profit in insuring pit bulls.
Sad. I'm an independent insurance agent. I represent 16 different companies. Not a single one will insure you if you own a pit bull.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.
