At $50/$60 a leg,,they might as well cancel King Crabs all together, that's stupid.

The resource is the ultimate concern, not your price to eat it. Secondary is the industry built around the resource, not your price at the plate. Thirdly is your price at the plate, which you may or may not choose to pay. You have little skin in the game, sir.

Bad news for fishermen through the supply chain to the consumer. Wonder how many millions of dollars this will remove from the economy? Yup, very bad news.......the earths food resources are being depleted. There is more farm raised fish for sale than wild caught fish.....farm raised fish is not good for you.

Then show some concern to the working men and women of this industry, who will pay a higher price than your table craving or budget. What? I've showed concern and paid the outrageous price for the last 3 years. Availability will be the issue, not the cost. Don't look like the alaskan fishermen will be working at all in the crab fishery.

mad mike,,,you seem knowledgeable on crab fishing. they say a harvest of tanner crabs will continue. what are they? thanks. SEAK has had a seasonal Tanner fishery, mid winter. It was never near the volume of pounds produced by the fleet in the Bering fishery. I hope the survey results don’t curtail this harvest also. I fished hand troll and power troll with my family in the 80’s then moved to crew in the early 90’s in crab and long lining in SE. I regularly do personal use and sport fishing and with no reservation can say our stocks are plummeting. There is still some stock in the SE Region, but it’s hard to trust ADF&G when their baseline escapement numbers are wrong, by them admittedly, for decades.
