Let me ask you this. If you were cheated out of 30000 what would you want done? Who got cheated?
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

What did Brady and the Patriots get for cheating? Criminal charges? There was a lot more than 30g at stake. Bet NO ONE called for criminal charges in that situation. Why? Was there a conviction? Was there charges or criminal investigation

Gotcha. Yes my point is some screaming the loudest about one cheat just dismiss others and I ask why. Ones on here would spit on the fishing cheats and condemn them but would pee down their leg to get another's autograph

Am I way off base in thinking this is not just ridiculous but what's coming down the pike for everything? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing for cheaters but multiple felonies for people who cheated in a fishing tournament. Taking away their right to own a gun and to vote, if convicted, because they cheated in a fishing tournament? The ODNR taking their boat and trailer, calling them criminal tools? They are POS's and should have been kicked out from tournament fishing for life, but? What say you??? Link the purse was 30K most bank robbers get about 3K and do 10 years so what is the punishment for 30K in embezzling or fraud ? it was theft by fraud of 30K

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I haven't followed the story completely , but I heard the fuzz confiscated a boat that the two DB's won in a previous tournament .
Did they cheat in that tournament also ? Probably , but unless there is proof how does a government agency start taking personal property ?

I don't think that's accurate Pete, with respect.

I'm also wondering if trying to cheat ( they did not succeed ) warrants the same conviction as if they had received the 30 grand and found guilty of cheating and theft at a later time ?
Scumbags either way

Even if they wanted to discipline in-house it only takes 1 mad fisherman to file charges. Since event officials were tipped off before the weight-in makes me believe that guys had caught on to their scheme from previous tournaments. This is not the first case of this, there was one on a bass tour years ago where winnings were near $100 grand.
I do understand the though that this is a non-violent felony and they shouldn’t lose all their rights, but I believe it’s common for courts to return those rights in these kind of cases.

Getting back your voting rights is easy, but getting back your gun rights, in most states is very difficult and sometimes impossible.

Scumbags either way This is a good point and has been brought up on our local news. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
