I'll probably be starting around Thanksgiving down here in TX!

Starting on November 1st this year, will probably make my own thread entirely in the trapping only forum so I don't clog up this thread.

I'll probably run a coon/mink line around the first of December, and will start getting after the coyotes once deer season is winding up.

Awesome TN trapper. I'm hoping to start soon. What traps are you running for yotes?

I'm mainly running MB-550s and Bridger #2s.

Awesome, I like the 550s I have some mbs and some dukes, I caught a few in the mb 450 last year in some fox sets

Y'all are both way better than I am, I have almost 4 dozen footholds for yotes and I still haven't caught one.

It's not how many traps you have or how fancy your equipment is (yes, a large number of traps and good high-end equipment is very nice, don't get me wrong) but rather it depends on location, work ethic, perseverance, and the ability to learn, adapt, and keep trying. You'll do well, just keep at it, keep your eyes and ears open, and before long you'll be famous!

I'll try again this year but mainly go for water trapping since I enjoy it way more. Also, that's a pretty funny joke you said there.

Well Tom hope trapping is going well. For me I am done. This has been the worst year for coyote trapping. I only caught two coyotes. Had traps driven over by the farmer, nine total out of twenty, one stolen and then I ruined one hide pulling it off. So any beaver trapping or otherwise. Take care my friend.

Good start to the season rattrapper!

I was planning to set traps on Thanksgiving, but the forecast was calling for tons of rain, so I had to post-pone to next week. Normally rain isn't a factor in my part of Texas, but it was this year!

Good luck authortrapper, I'm up to three reds and 8 coon. I've had some trouble at one location a red pulled out of one set there after I caught a rock in the jaws then the next night I put in a sneaky flat set to get him and caught a rock in that trap too. Kinda one of those moments that makes you kick yourself lol both the rocks were tiny pea gravels but they were right above the hinges. December first we can get set in the water so I'll get on a couple other properties I have lined up and start getting after the mink and the rats. Honestly I'm already doing better this year than I thought I would.

Thanks, we have quite a few white skunks but this is the whitest one I've caught.

I caught this first coyote two days ago and the other one in the snow today.

Well I finally got about 13 coyote sets and 4 DPs out starting on the 10th. This was the first catch. I believe it was a gip, caught at a trail set in a Duke 550, using scat and Winter's Coyote Urine. 2nd night catch!

This grouchy male was caught in a Duke 550, at a 2-scat set, using coyote scat and urine, plus a dab of Mark June's "Coyote Frenzy."

This one was another female (gip) caught at a punch hole set, with Mark June's "Widowmaker" and "Coyote Frenzy" alo9ng with scat and Winter's Coyote Urine in a Duke 550

I plan to put out some predator sets in the next week or two. I ran a small line a few weeks ago and got 2 coons and 5 possums.

Set some beaver traps today, season goes till Jan 31 so make it count. After that it's snaring beavers until Feb 28

I got a dozen footholds out for fox and coyote on Saturday.

I finally got the time to put out some sets Monday. I got my first ever coyote double this morning. Both were males. First set was a small dirthole and the second set was a scent post.

I'm up to 4 fox and 1 muddy coon, two of the fox had mange.

It doesn't seem like this kids Forum gets used much anymore

That might give you an idea of how many kids are trapping these days--or should I say--not trapping these days.
