I don't but I know that I love having them around since I'm not very good with the fractions of them. Good luck with the search!

What's hard about reading tapes? Or the fraction to decimal conversion?
0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625, 0.03125

What you need is a 6" or 12" machinists stainless steel ruler. Graduated in 1/64th" of an inch. All over Amazon or maybe Lowe's or Home Depot.
Looks like you're trying to break fractions down into decimals. That breakdown will be on the back of a 6"machinist ruler. Handy gadgets.

Yes I have seen recoil tapes graduated in 1/64th. They're out there.
Usually 1/16" is the smallest fraction that is needed for any kind of building construction so most tapes are graduated in 1/16ths.

Yes I have seen recoil tapes like what is on your note pad. They are made. Usually 1/8 is the smallest fraction that is needed for any kind of building construction so most tapes are graduated in 1/16ths.

^This^

Carpenters don't need that fine a measure but cabinet makers do to keep the tools square.

Mixing fractions and decimals means extra steps and chances of error.

Think of it like this:
  • 3 5/16 is the same as 2 21/16
  • .5 of course is 1/2, or 8/16
  • so. 2 21/16 minus 8/16 is 2 13/16

You should be able to easily interpolate 16th's on a 1/8 scale.

If you have ever seen a steel machinist's scale, you'll notice it can get pretty cluttered, and difficult to read. That kind of clutter just doesn't belong on a tool that is intended for longer, less precise work.

To specifically answer your original question. I do know where you can get one marked in 16's, though. Right on your own workbench. See those little tick marks between the 1/8th's on the lower scale? Those can actually be thought of as 16th's.

I hate tape measures with the fractions printed on them. I find it distracting.

Thats me... my wife will say it's the little mark past the 1/4" - I say, do you mean .3125? and she usually responds with a mumbled expletive
