How often should you dye/dip your traps? Is it a yearly thing, or every few years or something else. What do you all do? Thanks!

At the very least I dye and wax every season, sometimes I pull a few traps that I make multiple catches in and redo them during the season if I'm motivated

For my canid gear (wolves and coyotes), I dye them between every catch, for the first two years of their life. After that, I dye once a year. For other traps (fox, marten, muskrats, coons, cats, etc.), I dye heavily just prior to the season, and that's it. I'm generally not a waxer on my wolf/coyote gear, as the wax will absorb and retain foreign odors, and I am paranoid about smells.
