I know most are thinking I am talking about fur prices but I'm not. Had my first trap stolen today and when you run good equipment it costs about $25 bucks to replace a setup. I hope the person enjoys my trap. I hate trap thieves.

Wish I had more time to trap....

Bad enough when they get plowed under or run over by farm equipment but thieves are the worst!

Thieves suck.

Get a job and buy your own traps.

I once had snowmobiles follow my path in the snow on my line and they stole 13 k9 traps , had around $25 each in those set ups , so they got $325 in equipment off me that night.

Wow, that’s sorta makes me glad we can’t trap public land. I’d end up in jail if I caught someone stealing my traps. It can happen on private land as well but all my landowners have backhoes for digging deeeep holes!

Yep, it sucks. Lost $285 in belisles and mb750 traps about two years ago. Hope they caught a finger or two in one of them.

Sadly I think most of us have had some stolen through the years. I had five 330's stolen last year on private land.
Thieves are some of the worst scum

Got the first one of the season today. Young female. Wish I had set a couple more at that spot. It was the last trap I had in the truck that day and so there was only one set and I am sure this young one wasn't traveling alone. Made 2 more sets there today.

Wish I had more time to trap....

A new MJ 600 Sterling rigged out with # 7 chain and a bullet anchor cost me around 55 dollars. Had 1 stole in West Texas. It stinks. But it happens

Not much more agervating than a catch circle, blood, and no critter or trap. I mostly lost dukes coon trapping but back then I was so poor I only had a dozen maybe 18 traps at most and loosing those 1.5 doors stung me more than loosing a a 550 today.

I haven't lost one to theft since I started trapping again. I only trap my farm or for friends close to home that want varmets removed. No road ditch trapping any more.

What?? Public land trapping is all I do, I would hate for that not to be an option. Backhoes can go on public land too....

On private land I had 150 muskrat traps stolen the first night they were in the lake. It could have only been another trapper. Yes, I had written exclusive permission.

I had a foothold, and 2 dogproofs go through a hay grinder my first year of trapping because the rancher said he wasn't going to grind bales for a few months and he ended up doing them the next week. Then this last year, I had 3 dogproofs go through a bush hog because the guy mowed the day before we were going to pull our traps. The thing that sucked about those last ones was that we were borrowed so I had to buy new traps for the guy, which worked out fine.

Oh .....that had to sting...a lot.

I've had two Bridger 2 dogless flattened by landowner's hired hands past 2 days.

I lost 3 brand new ALPHAS last year to the plow. LO said he wasn't going to work the field but forgot to tell his hired hand. Set one day only to find the field was black the next.
