So I guess there was a mountain lion hit and killed on I88 in North Illinois just the other night. There is a photo floating around on Facebook showing a state trooper holding it. I checked with a few local people I know and they all confirmed it to be true. My fellow Northern Illinois trappers keep a look out this season and stake your traps well

That's nothing. We had a tiger shot here a few years back.

Truck driver carrying circus critters stopped for a pit stop and someone had forgotten to lock a door.

that is my guess as well I believe the last few that have been killed in Illinois have all been young males

They have been spotted around here (not by me) and the tracks were confirmed by the DNR. I-39 and I-88

We have them here but the DNR says they are transients, including the pregnant female that was hit by a car a few years ago.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
