IowaTrapper OP trapper I Joined: May 2021 Posts: 112 Iowa	I'm really looking forward to this season, traps are dyed, got about 95% of my ground scouted which sits at 513 locations. 20% more then last year. Pogos are made, just got to finish up scouting and clean up the shop a bit and I'm ready for prestaking next Saturday. Hope yall are gonna get out there and have fun, no matter what scale you trap on!

Now the decision is what should I set for. Seems like we had a bumper crop of coons this year so maybe a few of them. Coyotes and fox is a given. Set traps for coyotes even if the price is down.

If you don’t mind, What air rifle you or using and pellets? And, I was wondering. With that high coon count. How do you process them? Skin and freeze them all. And then come back, and flesh and board? Or do you skin, flesh and board, all at the same time, as you go?

I hire a skinner for the first 2 weeks when I'm pulling in numbers I can't handle myself. He skins, parts them out, then freezes everything. Then I come along and finish the fur January through April.
