My aunts purse. Someone stole it from her car while she was at church and tossed it off a bridge coming out of town.

Last year I was running some water traps close to home I generally like to have my in and outs at steep, difficult, thick and hard to reach places. Cuts down on theft and any nosey people. One day i jumped down the steep embankment to my access spot and I saw a makita bag. Being a carpenter i knew what it was from a distance. It looked fresh and full. Of course i made my way to it and checked it out. Full it was so I opened it up. First thing i saw was a chrome plated junk 380 from a FL manufacturer which at first glance i thought was a BB gun. Then i saw a LCP 9. I had just bought my wife one. I thought to myself, what luck, i got one for free. Along with that was a bong, scale, and all the other good things along with some bit boxes and such.

I took the pistols and bits and finished my line. I told my wife what i had found and she wasnt happy. She is a practitioner at a local provider as well as working in conjunction with LEOs with subjects like sexual assualt and drug stuff. She didnt like that fact that they could be linked to crimes and in MY possession. I took her advice. I called the sheriff and had him come by to pick up the guns. They were clean apparently. I am glad i took my wifes advice, i dont need those things in hind sight. I tild him i could show him where the bag was with the rest of the junk. He wasn’t interested. I went back and got it out of the woods and in the dump.

I was on an uninhabited lake far from any place to put a boat in or any road. Put my rake down on the bottom, cant remember if i was scratching a trap bed or checking a run or what but I heard a distinct sound of metal on the rake times. Starting fishing around, and pulled up a bright shiny 3/8” stainless steel rod about 3 feet long. Just a rod, nothing on either end and straight not bent, not mushroomed from pounding, nothing. Just a stainless steel rod that might have been there a day or decade. And it was stuck in the mud vertical with maybe 8 inches sticking up above the bottom.

I was doing some control work south of Gillette. It was July and I checked a set near a reservoir. I have what looks like a two headed badger backed into a hole. Trap chane leading to the hole. To make a long story short. After I dug the 2 deceased badgers out I discovered one on the bottom was in the trap a female the one on the top was a male theye appeared to have parished exiting the hole and seemed to have been wedged. Very strange.

I found 3 big plastic trash bags full of men's illustrated educational material. I like to have wore the ink off the pages educating myself! Almost went blind, but got rid of them when I needed glasses!

Quite a long time ago I purchased a dozen 1.75 coil spring traps. I went over them and added swivels and adjusted them to suit my needs . Over time I LOST ONE OR TWO OF THEM BECAUSE some how the J hook slipped thur the frame of the trap . When I realized what had happened I checked my 1.75 coil springs to see if any other ones had a j hook that would pull out of the frame. Try as I might I did not have any that where a problem . Yet along the way I lost a couple more I suppose because I am a slow learner I did not just replace all the j hooks on all my 1 .75's A few years later I was out hunting deer sheds one late winter day .As I making my way through a brushy draw I noticed a trap in the briars .I picked it up .It had no chain so therefore if it was one of my traps it also would not have had a tag on it . It was slightly rusted but overall in working order I tried to set it and it was OK to remain set By that time I had seen that the adjustments made to the trap where like what I would do on my traps . As thought about it I recalled that I had lost a trap due to the jhook problem I had some years earlier So it appears that I found a trap that I had lost years earlier And the lesson I learned was to replace all j hooks on all of the 1.75 coil springs I owned .Like I said slow learner !!!1

A wallet, when I returned it the farmer thought it might have fallen out of his pocket while on the tractor a few years prior.
