Killing some time last night I stoped at a gunshop and they had 2 of these in stock for a little over 1000. Both in 20 one with 24" and the other 26" my 10 year old shoots the single shot handy&r high enough he missed 2 turkey's. But the 870 youth is a bit to heavy for him. Funny he burns up the clays with the shotgun he missed the turkey's with. Anyway I have only use a benelli once on a duck hunt and I didn't like the benelli click . I eased the bold down not knowing it didn't close, and once it got bumped and did it again.

I liked th winchester sx4 we looked at it fit my 12 year lod well but was still big for the 10. I think the benelli compact may fit him better but the shop I'd 2 hrs from home down by work. I'm tempted to buy it but I'm hung up on that darn benelli click. So decided to look into them a little more.

Anyone with any experience with them, or anything out there that may be better? Likes dislikes?

I have one in 20 gauge with 26" barrel, it's my go to upland gun. It swings nice and I shoot it well, nice and lite.

Providence I'm going to tell you clays about ruined me turkey hunting. I shoot clays both eyes open. Turkey hunting I was shooting turkey gun same way and lead the shot entirely to much lol. I missed about 3 and dad called me a few names lol( this was dad before Christ) and he took turkey hunting serious! I had to quit clays because 1 more turkey my dad may have disowned me!

I'm thinking about putting the saddle mount and red dot on the 870 youth. He will be bigger this spring. He killed his first one with a bow at 7 years old by himself. And missed one the last two years.

I really like berretta and they are about $250 cheaper. I just got a beretta 20 gauge and am enjoying it, neighbor kids killed some ducks with it and they liked it.

I shot one my buddy had traded for and within a few days had found a used one on gunbroker.com and it was on the way to my local gun store for me. My kids killed a lot of their 1sts with it, great gun. It would be one of the last I would sell if I ever got that desperate for funds.

Have several Benelli’s but the Montefeltro is one I don’t have. Every Benelli I have shoots where pointed and can take a beating. Started my son out with an 870 Youth but noticing him missing a lot, seems he was more concerned about racking a second shell than concentrating on the first shot. Got him an UltraLight in 20ga and even though he (25) now has a 12ga dedicated turkey gun, he’ll still take that Benelli out for a turkey every once in a while. Can’t go wrong with one of the 3B’s.

I got one for my wife to shoot doves and clays with because they offer a youth stock without cutting the normal one down. I also replaced the forearm cap with a mercury recoil suppressor and she shot it well. I like Benelli's a lot too.

How much dose this recoil suppressor help, weight does it add, cost, and where to get it?

when you shoot clay you stand and shoot a shotgun like a shotgun up in the air , when you turkey hunt you typically sit low and your face gets positioned different on the stock

since the rear sight is your eye on a shotgun a red dot or a ghost ring peep sight in the rear. which will also mean something for a front sight.

a red dot is often the best because if your at some weird angle you only need the dot where you want to hit and not centered in the window

just a reason why you can tear up clay and then shoot high on turkey , your rear sight moves aka your eye

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It is made or was made by C&H Research in Lewis Kansas. I am guessing it weighs 8 oz. When the gun goes back the Mercury offsets the recoil. Works great!

I Bought a 20 Gauge Montifeltro with a 26" barrel a few year ago and didnt shoot it. My son looked it over and bought it from me. All he uses for Turkeys with 3" #9 TSS and doves with Standard 2 3/4" #8 Dove loads. This Spring I found a New in Box Montifeltro with the youth stock that had been sitting in a gun cabinet for over 10 years and bought it for $800.00. I put a nice slip on recoil pad on it that adds 1" to the LOP and it fits me like a glove. My dove season went so much better this year firing the Montifeltro. Put around 1000 rounds through it with no issues at all and my son has put several thousand rounds through his. I figure that when my 7 year old grandson wants to shoot I can slide the recoil pad off for him. I say Buy that youth model and it can be used by multiple shooters.

I bought the adult Montefeltro and then bought the youth stock to put on for her. That way I can use it when she is done with shot gunning, or when your kids get bigger, you can put the longer stock on.

I too have a 26" 20 ga Montefeltro, use it for grouse and woodcock.

I ditched a 1100 LT20 for the Benelli.

Honestly the 1100 had less recoil, probably cause it was so heavy, about 2 lb heavier.

I have had no issue with feeding or jams.
