For those that trap in or around saltwater what has been your best method to protect your trap from rust long term? Wax, speed dip, paint? Looking for suggestions.

I use the rustoleum and acetone. 40-50% paint.
If you are IN salt, wax is a must.

Just doing what I want now.

For use in repeated submersion of saltwater I treat traps with Rustoleum dip. The rest get boiled and waxed and both treatments have held up pretty well through the years.

What traps are you looking to use in the environment? It does make a big difference. I won’t set coil springs in a place they will be regularly be in the ocean. Long springs hold up much better in that role.

Oh. I didn't think you meant coni's.
I use the rustoleum/acetone dip for those.
And my otter sets get sprayed by the salt regularly. They hold up well.
Thought you were thinking tide pools, for some reason.
