I had my first bright orange throated marten mounted and as time went by the orange faded out.

Is Jerry a Wyoming resident ? I looked into trapping there and it said something about only trapping what a non resident can trap in my state, just wondered how that works?

Well ok....but if not, I'll give him a good home. Tell him he has enough martens...and arrange for me to have that one ...

He skinned it with the feet on.

He takes a load of fur to a reputable tannery in New jersey.

He has for a few years.

If you want him to he can send it with the other and get it garment tanned with the other fur he's getting tanned.

He gets a volume discount so he can get it tanned cheaper for you if you want him to.

He'll get hold of ya and work out the details but it will be awhile.

Once we get e. All stretched he'll take pics.

Cathryn, tell Jerry I love them with the feet on. Tell him to send it in with his other fur to garment tan. I would love that. I've used the NJ tanners for my beaver coat and they did an amazing job for me.

I will of course pay for all the treatment and shipping.

No hurry. I'm as happy as a clam at high tide to have this one.

I'm always gullible for that beautiful orange bling, and especially this one's orange blend into the sable tones all down the belly.

Better read those laws again. A non resident can trap in Wy only those specie a Wy trapper can trap in your State. You have Marten in the UP and they are protected so you can not trap in Wy for marten.

Now Jerry lives in WV where they have no marten at all. So he can trap them in WY. It’s called reciprocity.

Same went for me when I lived in WI but now that I live in IL I could trap them in WY.

He's up to 53 marten and a bunch of other hides.

The marten catch is right where it usually is.

I haft unt given up on him though..not at all...100 is still doable..

Im praying they start moving ahead of this front and I hope he gets 4 or 5 inches of snow up high so theyll have to hunt hard and move more to find food.
