It’s a nice looking bag but it’s empty when you get it.

Is there really a difference between justice and vengeance? Is it only a matter of perspective? Or who carries it out?

If it was legal to kill the murderer of your children yourself, would that be justice or vengeance? Is it different if the State kills the murderer?

Most vengence is lowering yourself down to or below the level of the person who did you wrong so of course, it's overrated. There's much more satisfaction to be found in taking the high road and letting God do the avenging.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I got 2 cheeks. ..once I've turned em...

Vengeance is mine.. smile

And it is best served cold.

Let em get comfortable..let em think that they're in the clear..let em think you've moved past it..

Then start your payback..little things that make em think..what the heck?... add up to sweet revenge ..and is enjoyable..especially when you get to set back and watch it all unfold. grin

During a ballgame in school a guy gets attacked by a school mate. That weekend the school mate drowns in an irrigation pond after his friends left him alone. The perception was that the guy that got attacked would be relieved that the school mate had perished.

Where does that thinking come from?

But in some situations, I bet it feels GOOD to fix it so they meet sooner.

I certain someone stole one of our dogs a few years ago and she's still paying for it in various little ways.

She just doesn't know it. smile

If the attacker was truly alone when he drowned, then its more like karma.

If the group of friends drowned him and claimed not to, to me, that is murder, not vengeance. Vengeance to me is like for like, eye for an eye. If the group of friends would have just tuned him up a bit, then all is good.

It’s not vengeance I seek, it’s the reckoning 😉

Justice, Vengeance, karma, are they the same?

Justice, vengeance and karma are similar, but definitely not the same.

Justice is carried out by the government or other official authorities.

Vengeance is carried out by private parties, often within a code of conduct, such as eye for an eye.

Karma, for those that believe in it, is the world setting things back in balance.

Three different actors for similar actions.

If the boy was not alone when he drowned, in my opinion, it is none of the above three. It is murder, either willful or negligent.

I'm naturally a very vengeful person but it's a much better situation when I can forgive someone and move on. Everyone has wronged someone. If vengeance was the moral direction we all took it would be an ugly endless cycle.
Forgiveness let's a wound heal, vengeance let's anger and evil fester.

This right here.

I spent the first 40 or so years of my life a master at vengence. Either immediate OR eventual. NOT the guy you wanted to end up on the wrong side of...........

Occurred to me one day that, even though it didn't really affect the rest of my day-to-day life, there was an facet to it that I knew.......but was ignoring.

Matthew 6:14-15

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Pretty straightforward. So, I started putting wrongs done me by others in God's hands. The vengence IS His...............and once I give it to Him........there's a relief and a weight lifted that I had not previously realized was there.
