Boco... I can go almost anywhere in this country without fearing for my life. The exception being certain sections of major cities. And if you say there aren't sections in Toronto that you would be foolish to wander into at night unarmed, I'll call you a liar to your face. Maybe YOU wouldn't be afraid to, but most people of at least average intelligence would.

Do many schools have armed cops there? Yes... usually one overweight donut eater they pull off desk duty to do it because the parents are scared because of the media hype. But there are 1,001 ways your kid is much more likely to die than by a school shooting. And as shown in multiple school shootings in the past, having the donut eater there is pretty useless anyways... think Parkland and Ulvade.

So no, Boco, as a woman I am not scared to venture out unarmed and the only time I AM armed is when I am trapping. But I do avoid the major cities... they have nothing I need.

There are schools in Canada that have security. Many city’s have School Resource Officer (SRO) Programs

I know this is self-serving, but a big thank you to the Boss and the moderators for allowing this heated exchange to take place. In a world where censorship has become the norm, it is so refreshing to have the elbow room to vent, discuss, argue, disagree, get angry, and to appreciate that freedom without being treated like children even when we might act like children. I know there are limits, but I very much appreciated your patience with us rubes.

x2 on not much difference in the squaller in USA cities and Canadian cities. I recently drove through Ottawa, the street across from the Iraq Embassy was full of homeless , mentally ill, and drug addicts living and lying on the street in tents and boxes as far as you could see.
