If you are seriously having these thoughts get professional help. Find someone to talk that can help you through this. Don't worry about money or the bills because there is nothing they can take from you. As others have said, think of what this would do to family and friends. Make the call to a suicide prevention hotline or something similar.

I been there foxkid. Dont get in a hurry. Back surgery saved my life to make a long story short. I figured if I couldnt live it was time to die. Nobody I know begrudges tax dollars for what your describing. Seems like people that need disability have to wait and deadbeats go right through. Hang in there. I went back to work and you may be able to also.

Despite being square in the middle of an awful set of circumstances, it shows a great deal of strength that you've reached out to us for help. As you can see by the comments already coming in, there are folks who really care and want to see you get through this stuff. Call 988 and you will be able to talk to someone who can really help you to get through this mess.

When any person finds themselves in a place of no hope, as countless people now seem to be, "stay strong" has no relevance.
In fact, it's often counter productive because the hopeless tell themselves they can't even do that.
Anyone involved in compassion care in our country right now knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Anyone seeking support for suicidal thoughts on an online forum is a plea and so I urged Foxkidd44 to seek professionals who are trained for such things.

I've had nerve pain in the past that was so severe and unrelenting that you can't even think or open your eyes to light. When it goes on and on and on, I totally understand your thoughts, foxkidd. Can't say for sure how long I really would have lasted under those conditions. I prayed and prayed and by a weird twist, got to the right medical help (A neurologist that for some reason had one slot the same day when he was booked out for months) and got turned around in a few days. I still understand your outlook.

Personally, I would get the surgery (that's just me). Anyone who has worked in a hospital will likely tell you, there are many who undergo surgeries/medical care that have no chance of ever paying it back. There are laws that hospitals can't refuse you service, but to what extent I'm not sure.

It's often darkest before the dawn, however. Been there and it's not a fun splace to be. I honestly think only God can help us when we are in these positions.

I would seek professional help for my suicidal thoughts. As for the surgery, have you checked into different ministries that may offer help. I believe Franklin Graham has a medical help ministry.
