So I mounted my new Lazer chain( china copy of organ) saw sharpener today and know the angle should be 30- 33° on the part the chain sits on but the part of the saw that hols the rock angles as well from 90 to 45• AND I HAVE forgotten what angle it should be set at and have not found it on line. I think it's 60• but wanted to check and see if anyone knew if I was correct or my memory was off.

Not all chains are alike.
It'll say on package chain came in,
or look it up by chain make and model.

here is an Oregon chart
it would depend what/who's chain your using if you want to keep it factory or if you find your own preference

I think there was a similar chart in the video also

No China has zero directions. But for home owner / farm personal use $155 what much more agreeable and it seemed a very large step up from the harbor freight models and "seem well built". Time will tell on that.

I can't believe I never thought about looking on the boxes the chains came in. Thanks
All jnfo was not on the box but with the box and your chart Greencounty I now have it. 25°,10°and 60°. I didn't know it had the 10° setting or that angle tell I saw the video thanks

How is it working for ya? Always wanted a real grinder but cha-ching.
I read on the net that the cheap grinders can be improved with better quality grinding wheel.
Scuba from here knows wheels.

I learned to avoid chains with the 10 degree tilt.
Probably an old dog new trick with the file.

I haven't tried the new one yet. Had church last night and deer hunting with my10 year old now. The cheap harbor freight one I got years ago worked for small chains but I ground them down to much. I am hoping I will have better luck with this one. It was recommended by the saw shop I use. They said the model that cost more than 2x had parts avaliable whe r e as the one I got had less parts they could get. But thr parts they could not get were big main parts. I figured if n I do wear it out in my lifetime I can buy another and still be ahead. If I get time to day I may try it out. But my boys gotnqrawn for a youth hunt on a refuge Saturday so I will be getting ready for that.

It does for the 25° angle of the tooth but the sharpener has 3 different angles to set.

I used it on one chain today. It worked better than the harbor freight one I have. Maybe tomorrow I will put it on thw saw and see if it will actually cut like a new one. Deer hunting with my 12 year old now
