![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/10/full-48357-154924-img_0039.jpg) I was trying to shoot the bow and I was attacked. Turns out an outstretched arm is an invitation to my babies. Apparently the guineas like there new roost sir. LOL

your bow needs some string dampeners. My third shot was the one in the bull (I number my arrows). The one on my shoulder landed on my bow arm when I was taking the shot. I would like to say that I am that good, but... This was at 50 yards by the way.

Those are girls. They don't make that loud sound. I just have to watch that they don't go all Alfred Hitchcock on me. Lol.

I miss having Guinea's! At one time I had around 45 of them. Great watch dogs, comical to watch and super easy to take care of. Funny story, mine (like most0 were TERRIBLE hens. They would lay eggs all over in the woods. My neighbor wanted some and chickens in the worst way but the fox ate them as fast as he could bring them home. One morning I saw a hen with around 10 little chicks that were SUPER cool colored that she must have hatched in the woods! White and silver, gorgeous birds. I managed to herd them into the coop and left them in there for several days to make that "home" for them like all the others. About a week later the neighbor stopped over and told me the new keets he had bought had vanished. I fessed up, we sorted them out and he took them home. The next morning they ran right back here. This had become home for them.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I hatched some last year, then couldn’t sell them, so I over wintered about fifty head. Never do that again, bout ate us out of house and home! So this spring, after the hawks went back north, we would let them free range. Got along fine, till about the middle of August. Momma usually takes care of them, and she said she counted the guineas, and we were down to 25. So much for eating them, the coyotes were doing it for me! I walked down to the edge of the property and quite a few piles of feathers. She has let them out several times since, and now we’re down to twenty, which will be a lot cheaper to feed this winter! Gonna make a few yotes pay along about turkey day!

got 3 of them from somewhere. they stayed around the house for a while, then started going over to the neighbor's barn. they would walk down the feed trench, pooping as they went. cows wouldn't eat near the piles. john ask me who's birds them was. told him they were mine, i'd take care of it. got the 20 gauge out and hunted them up. put them in the smoker and took him over one as a peace offering. he told me if he knew they where that good, all 3 would have disappeared!

FYI, my research found that they were brought to this country from Africa, back in the 1800's for a sporting game bird. Pre ringneck pheasant via China. A somewhat hardy fowl on their own. They were great potato bug control, and YES dam good eats. My 2 cents. Tut
