My only experience with deer calls is when I grunt they either ignore it or take off. Never do they cone my direction. But I hardly ever call. Bought a grunt tube tonight and got a set of antlers out that was off road kill. I think I will try making some noise mid day tomorrow . My boys got drawn for a youth refuge hunt. I will let you know it it works. It will be a long Day. The best time to call deer is when they're already on their feet. Early morning and evening.

I have brought bucks in rattling horns before. Be sure they can't get downwind of you, they will try.

I've not had much success with doe blasts. Best success rates for me have been with a Primos Buck Roar.
"My feeling is this, give him plenty of time, plenty of birds, and a little direction, and he'll hunt his heart out for me. That's all I ask."

A Way bow grunter plus. I'm not sure if they are in business anymore. I still own and use this call. It has worked great over the years. It is adjustable from fawn to buck. The best call I've ever used. Made by A Way products (Fred and Greg Abbis)

No one's Saying which call they bought? Too many to list, Scott. Knight & Hale EZ Grunter, Primos Buck Roar, Woods-Wise (now defunct but available on eBay) and a bunch of others. I have too many to list but have called in deer with most, if not all of them.

I have brought bucks in rattling horns before. Be sure they can't get downwind of you, they will try. Absolutely. A mature buck is going to try and come in downwind. It's not so much he thinks the calling is a fraud, he wants to know who he is walking into.
