My farm seems to be overloaded with skunks this year. I didn't plan on trapping this year but I don't want to spend the winter scrubbing beagles. Any info on targeting them will be appreciated. I have only dealt with them as incidental catches in perfect dirt hole sets. Lol.

Skip the mess of mixing it all up and get a bottle or two of this and it doesn't have a shelf life. Neighbors call me to spray down their dog when it get tangles with a skunk, then they hire me to catch the skunk!

I use conibears in cubby's when targeting skunk . If no raccoon around a 120 belisle otherwise 160 or 220 . But prefer 120 . Beaver meat in cubby and squirt bottle of salmon oil with a little shell fish oil mix to squirt a scent line out from cubby . Setting upwind of there travel routes

I use dog proof traps for skunks that way you always have them by the front foot. Pm for dispatch.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Dry culverts, focus on dry culverts for skunks. 220's or 160's make a good dry culvert trap.

Carp pieces or mini marshmallows if you have cats you will be surprised the number of skunks you might get.

If you use the right dispatch method you don't need to wash any hides. If your using BGs about 50% of your skunks are going to spray. And It's a bit difficult to dispatch a skunk when It's caught In live trap.

Agree , but there's ways , to dispatch , without spraying using a cage live trap.

I have experience with one (that I kept). I dispatched in the chest from the front, and let it "soak" outside for a day. Was surprised to find that there wasn't much stink left, so skinned and fleshed...no big deal. I can't guarantee this method though!

Smaller, covered live trap so they can't raise their tail , no spray. Cover the trap with a feed bag or something.

Cat food works for us.
