Tell us in detail about slipping a beaver tail. I skinned and fleshed a fresh tail and put it in a bucket of water and lime solution on Oct 13. Still nothing seems to be happening. It is around 50 degrees in my shed is that too cold?

Try freezing it in water, then thaw it out in the water, that helps sometimes.
I never used any chemicals on it.
Try scraping the grain to see if its loosening up.

Froze in water for a couple of days then thawed for a couple of days. One of the sides did slip off the other slipped about 75%, a little more came off by scrapping. I put it back in the water. Will check it daily. Anyway finally got one to slip, now will see about tanning.......
