For those planning to attend the Wisconsin Trappers Association rendezvous in Antigo next year, save your squirrel tails to turn them in to the Mepps factory across the road from the fairgrounds. I meant to post this sooner but forgot until I saw Macthediver's post about squirrels. They'll pay $0.25 per tail for gray and fox tails, or double it for store credit.

I remember in the 70's selling them to Mepps. They had a advertisement in a magazine and would send a postage paid envelope. My Dad thought I was silly, I think it was a dime a piece then. But hey, money is money and I got some nice lure's. I think it's cool they still do it.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I think I only did the mepps thing one time. Local fur buyer always gave me what Mepps paid or bit more. I picked enough Mepps spinner diving the river.
Most falls though I collected enough tails to more than pay for the 22 shells used to collect them tails.

At a nickel per round, you only gotta hit 20% of your shots to break even!
