LET THE BADGER LOOSE

Some days a man's adventurous
And can't sit still a lick.
Some days are overwhelming
Feeling lazy, down, and sick.
He longs for new excitement,
Some reasonable excuse,
To seek a new adventure,
To let the badger loose.

He needs that old excitement,
That used to flow through veins.
That wouldn't allow a moment's rest,
He needs to take the reins,
And get the passion back in life,
No backing off; no truce.
He needs to grab ahold of life,
And let the badger loose.

Jack

You have a great way with words.
Thanks

Thanks Paul. I appreciate the comment. Seems like you and I are the only two that ever view this forum, huh?

Sharon indeed does , Mr Paul . Jack's fine shares of life , in the way only himself can describe, are hands down my favorites.

Jack. I took your book of poems with me on my trip to Alaska, and read this one as well as others to appreciative audiences, JR included. They loved your poetry and my reading of them . The guys who appreciate well read individuals really loved me reading aloud to them from your book , as well as Robert Service . Your work is always included in my singing and reading to such ones .

More peek in than one might think.

As to OP,s writing above, here here, well said and done. Gives pause and reflection to those of us becoming long of tooth.
