Been watching for over an hour here now. Won't see another total lunar eclipse till 2025. I like watching celestial events. Looking up at all those stars shure puts me to wondering

I got up and sat out in the backyard with a cup of coffee. Was kind of cool to have a clear night for once and watch for that first little bit of eclipse. About 45 minutes into the event now. Amazing how many other constellations, planes and other unknowns I've seen this morning

I am up watching, and composing a strongly worded letter to my elected officials, to see if they could schedule future eclipses at a more reasonable time. There is no reason that anyone should be forced to wake up this early, especially to watch a lunar eclipse. I propose , that they legislate an eclipse day, on the first Monday of November. They could have the lunar eclipse at around 10:30 in the morning ,that way we would only have to get up a little earlier than normal. Then ,if they would schedule the solar eclipse to that night , around 8:00, it wouldn't be so bright , and we could look at it with our bare eyes. ( and none of this "8:00 Eastern ", crap, everyone gets their own eclipses)
