The Edmund Fitzgerald left Superior Wisconsin on it's last journey. I have stood at whitefish point on a bitter cold day with 10 foot waves crashing on the beach. I couldn't imagine being on that lake that day. Someone had made a pile of rocks on the beach and there was piece of plastic sticking out. It turned out to be a ziplock bag with a photo of a young man in it. This was perhaps 20 years ago.
