I put this on the Wildcrafting also.

I just got back the 36 muskrats from Mink&Moyles tannery. I caught these over a period of 5 years.

Might need some suggestions on the uses I can do with them.

If there are some here who do the making things of fur, send me a PM. Thanks

I think someone on here is associated with a company that puts them on hoops and they sell for $70-$90 on their site. Riverine traders or something like that. But they're sliced up the belly like a beaver, not sure if yours could be done like that if they're case skinned the traditional muskrat way.

Are they open skinned or case skinned? The open skinned rats make cool hoops- Muskrat on this site hoops a lot of rats.

All of them are cased skinned. Just like when I put them up.

Send them to Wild Things in Wisconsin and get yourself a nice hat and mittens made. They are great folks!

I have a hat made here by the Amish. Maybe I should talk to them.

You could make a blanket.Muskrats make a nice blanket when blocked open and cut hexagonal like beaver.

This is a baby blanket I made 28 years ago and has seen use all thru the years.

Only 12 rats backed with flannell.

I like that idea BOCO. I don't have that need. But maybe one of my granddaughter may some day.

They sell very well.
Not much skill involved in making them.
