Catch it?
Every since my family moved to our farm about 6 years ago I have been job hunting. I was looking for something close to what I have and willing to take a 20k pay cut to be close to home. I have been made many job offers and declined them all due to insurance cost and coverage and low 401 matches.
A friend at church told me about where he works. It sounded ok so I put in and went through the first rounds of testing.
I have learns more of the details of the pay and benefits and I have to say I have found the unicorn I have been searching for.
Starting pay is what I make currently, they work the same schedule I'm on. After a year pay goes up almost $5 per hour and again after the 2nd year. 2 weeks vacation after one year, insurance on day one. INSURANCE IS FREE. lots of additional benefits I can add on for very low cost. Like 20k life insurance on my wife for 1.06 a week and 20k for the kids each for .07 a week. And on and on
It sound to good to be true. 30 miles one way from home 60 a day. Only work 15 days a month with the 12 hr shifts so only 10,800 miles a year. I will save 6k a year just on gas and not eating fast food becuse I won't be traveling and away from home .
I have another 3.5 hour evaluation/test/interview on the 17th in the afternoon. If things go well I will get put in a hiring pool but may not get an official offer for a while.

This would be so wonderful for my family. Our standards of living would not lower but go up and I would be home every day. I wouldn't miss as much church and I could be more involved in the local community. I should get my sanity back. I'm so tired of being away and behind on everything at home.
I have been trying not to get my hopes up to much but it's to late for that now.
If your prayer warriors I can use all the help I can get if this opportunity is part of his plan for my family..
I guess I'm so excited and hopefully I can't keep it contained any longer.
