Denny Stiers passed away October 28. He lived in Lincoln, NE the last few years to be close to his grandkids but he lived and trapped in the Shubert, NE area for many years. He was 73 years old.

I met Denny through Ron Hansen probably thirty years ago. Denny was a good trapper and commercial fisherman, he spent a lot of time on and around the Missouri river. Old school trapper, fiercely loyal to his friends and family. He did business the way it should be, with a handshake and his word being his bond. Dealt with him on a business level for decades. He got a lot of kids into trapping and took the time to get them off on the right foot.

He was dealt a tough hand health wise in his later years, but he lived life on his terms and had a helluva good time doing it. Anyone who knew Denny knew he was one of a kind, proud to call him friend.

God Bless.
