Happy Louisiana Day to all my Louisiana friends. It may be in the 80s today, but we’re supposed to get some good hunting and gumbo weather next week.

Used to live in Ponchatoula. Know where that is?

Yep I am about 40 minutes east of there.

Im down to dmap deer, hogs, squirrel, rabbits and birds at this point. Trapping season cant start soon enough

I do love good strawberries. Does that count?

... I didn’t know there was such a thing... what do y’all do to celebrate? .. drink heavily , eat a lot , play acordians and fight roosters?

... or is that just a regular evening over there ?

All that, and then chase Texicans thru the bush with shotguns in their underwear.

I didn’t realize it was a thing until yesterday. Apparently the National Calendar folks decided every state needed a day, and this was the day Louisiana got back in 2017.


Seems like the day would have been the day the territory was acquired or admitted into the Union, but what do I know? Apparently Random dates are just as appropriate.


Celebrated by having smothered okra, crawfish, and smoked sausage over rice and some cold pops.



If you look up Texas day, it looks like these same folks had a hand in picking their own day.

Some of us ride our pet alligators through the swamp with our shotguns in one hand and our accordions in the other chasing all and anything!

There’s only two types of people in this world! Louisianan’s and everyone that wants to be Louisianan’s
