Hey fellas,

Looking for some sled gas/oil mixture advice. I have long run 40:1 in my 2005 tundra r and last year acquired a 2005 550 f Skandic which I was running 50:1 in. Have always used skidoo mineral oil for mix in the tundra. Question is should I keep the fuel separate or will one mixture be fine in both? I live at 6500 feet and temps are often below zero, although not like you see in the north.

Thanks for any info ya have.

I think it is better to have it run a bit rich on the oil as opposed to too lean.
just carry a couple spare plugs if your weather gets warm and the plugs foul.
Don know how high elevation would affect that, flatland here in the north.

Elevation changes the fuel/air mix, never worried about adjusting the oil mix for elevation though. I always ran 50:1 in my Tundras, both Tundra R and the 08 300. 50:1 is richer than what the automatic oiler on the machine does for both the 280 and 550cc motors Skidoo makes.

Thanks for the info! I have run 40:1 in the tundra since it was new in 05 but glad to hear I can get away with one fuel mix for both machines.
