Howdy!
There has got to be a good way to degrease coons which doesn't involve naphtha or a commercial degreaser prep. I am pretty sure the first nations people used coon skins and didn't walk around in greasy, stinky fur. I read about using urine as a degreaser. Anyone here have any ideas?

You can get the grease out of a skin by repeated scraping and cold watering the leather side between scrapings.
You are going to want to handle the skins open.
