The ski socks I got at scheels and I got them back in their snowboarding section. Socks go all the way up to my knees and are super warm. Not sure the brand.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Spend the Extra and get the Darn Toughs. You won’t regret it. They are worth every penny and as previously noted they have lifetime replacement.
Don’t allow an obstacle to become an excuse!

These socks are my daily wear since I have the privilege of being outdoors every day. Well I now have much to read about.
I can count the votes faster than most jurisdictions and Darn Tough wins the plurality with enthusiasm, even if not a complete majority. That is impressive enough for me to order some to try to keep my feet happy while reading about other options.
The bison wool socks are intriguing. Especially since I had a very close encounter with a huge bull bison back in 1983. Our neighbor has quite a few bison and I have never heard one complain of cold tired feet.
Nessy - our water freezes quite well to fowl up late waterfowl seasons, and so the walk on frozen water fishermen can go out. We have had sustained cold to -23° Fahrenheit. And I have been known to frequently visit very cold places - New Hampshire, Maine, and even our 51st state Canada. (Just joking for Boco’s benefit.)
Thank you my friends!

Glad this came up. Local retailer carries these. Next time I get to town I'll jump.
Mens clothing is a joke. Well, more like the outdoor guy needs to shift to these high end outlets. Office clothes don't cut it lol.

Smartwool socks are excellent but very expensive. Bass Pro has some very heavy wool socks, another good source. I got some Realtree wool socks from Walmart a month or two ago and I love them. They got even heavier after a wash/dry cycle or three. Good price too. Try Colemans military supply in PA. Can be hit or miss but they're family owned and I've gotten a bunch of good stuff there.

I wear wool socks 365 days a year, yes even in summer. Biggest problem with me is am also a diabetic so the socks can't be too tight on the lower calf. Wear a 11wide shoe so normal 9-12 size is good only for a couple washings. Have tried the next size larger and they are good for much longer but eventually get too tight in the calves. Rag wool socks when I can find them fit the best over time but their loose knit make them not heavy enough in cold weather. When hunting still have a couple pair left from Fox River heavyweight hunting socks. When it gets really cold if one is inactive like when sitting on a deer stand I wear a pair of the liner socks inside to help wick away the moisture.
Most wool socks made these days are for yuppies to wear in their fancy shoes-not for the working man and they don't have any cushion in the feet. I'm still looking for some more as my stock is getting old, too
Enjoy Mother Nature's Glory, everyday!

My son gave me a bunch of heavy wool socks. He's in the military. I would check army stores.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.
