Have an abandoned farmhouse that I have permission to trap around and the land owner said he saw 3 skunks dart under the house while driving through. He saw a bunch of skunks there last year too. So I'm thinking they have a den under that house.

I've never purposely targeted skunk but I just ordered 6 Duke DPs and some Dunlap's Skunk Lure. Planned on having a marshmallow in the trap with a glob of the skunk lure. Plus I also have about 6 conibear boxes I was planning on baiting with sardines.

Does this sound like a good idea from targeting skunks? Will the commit to a DP pretty regularly baited right and on location?

I catch non-target skunks in DP’s on occasion, I prefer body grip buckets and boxes if I’m specially targeting them.

I'd rather front foot a skunk in a 1 1/2 jump, or double springed small body grip....Back foot catch is harder to lethal inject. I have caught them incidentally in a DP, and the dispatch is the same as with a foot hold.

Had good luck with DP's and skunks. I use marshmallows and dry catfood. A little fish oil for a trailing lure always seems to help. Body grips work but I have better luck using Belisle's as they seem to be stronger and close tighter but do have some that leek.
