Oldest son is in college and said he wanted to go deer hunting this year. We went together from when he was 5-12. When he was 13 he started going by himself but hasn't been for 5 years. We have a 6'x6' self made tower blind that we always hunted in and had a lot of good times hunting, talking, playing board games, etc. He wanted to hunt together so that is where we went. Lucky for us as Sat AM it was 23 and this AM 13 (propane heater). Sat AM (opening day of firearms) we had 3 small bucks and 3 big ones along with other does/fawns. The biggest buck was only 80 yards out but against the skyline while sticking with a doe. Sat PM a lot of does/fawns came by, a couple of small bucks, and a big one that didn't provide a shot. 15 min before dark a doe jogged our way followed by this buck and another. He shot at 40 yds and it went about 50. Tikka T3 270. I tried to get a shot on the other but couldn't. This AM same stand and does/fawns and a couple of small bucks. 15 min before we were going to leave a doe came by at 20 yds. followed by a little buck. This buck was following them and I shot him at 20 yds. Seneca Dragon Claw 50 cal air rifle.(these weren't the big bucks) Great adventure and good times.
