I don't know why it took me so long to put 2 and 2 together, but my strange mind was suddenly wondering exactly how goose down is harvested.
That got me thinking about the last coyote pelt boom, thanks to a famous coat maker who ended up a, well, Turn-Coat", if you will.
As most here know, Canada Goose caved to the ill-informed anti's, and quit buying fur.
HOWEVER, they still sell, in fact specialize in, goose down products.
Goose down is harvested from domestic geese, typically slaughtered at 15 weeks of age. Down is prime, then. Other options are "live-plucking", or rarely, plucking birds that are simply dead, due to un-known causes.
Just thought I would share. Feel free to Google, and spread the word.

Made it almost 3 years without censor!

I am glad I wear wool. Free range, organic, non binary wool too!

I have nothing clever to put here.

The Eskimos here used to sew goose skins together for clothes. I cant imagine anything warmer. I have seen picture of them.

Some will lay a swan skin on the ice to sit on while ice fishing.
