Whenever I hunt in cold weather, I have an injured index finger that gets so cold it actually hurts. Some said I needed to keep my core warm so the blood wouldn’t pull back from my extremities. Makes perfect sense, so I am going to overly bundle up this winter.

Hope it works. Upgraded my gloves, and dug out my insulated coveralls. Merino calf length socks inside muck boots. Will see if it works.

Anybody else have an injured body part with limited circulation? How do you keep it from hurting in cold weather.

My hands hurt something fierce in cold weather! I would suggest some sort of warmer in a natural skin type cuff...you may have just given me an idea for a product, thank you!

Jerry turns on His heated seats for his lower back.

He also has pins and screws in His ankle that really acts up in cold weather.

Beaver trapping kills him but he wont admit it. Going from the cold water to the heat of the truck and
Back is brutal.

He wears wool compression socks and insulated Dry Shod boots.

Some days his ankle and calf Are hugely swollen by the end of the day but he keeps going the next.

It amazes me somedays.

Have you ever tried those hunting gloves that you put the hot packs..those things you buy and squeeze to activate..inside the lining of the gloves?

I bet theyd help you.

Believe it or not....NFL Quarter Backs that play in the Cold weather ...Josh Allen ( Buffalo Bills ) and others....have been using Viagra to help stay warm during the game.

I remember hearing that somewhere.

But...like anything..consult your Physician first.

Use a thin pair of cotton gloves inside mittens. Never have cold fingers again.

Watch your sweating cold weather.

I sweat like the proverbial ho in church and have suffered with damp in the cold. Especially after long hikes and tree climbs. No cotton long handles for me. Wool or poly only and I wear button up shirts and one piece union suits so I can unbutton down to skin when needed to release heat to avoid sweating and then button up when sitting still.

Crushed my left thumb in the mid '80s.
Minimal feeling in it, always feels like It's in a mitten.

But it HURTS when it gets cold, makes no sense to me.
Little sensation, but pain is amplified.

And if I smack it when cold, it's a sharp pain, then throbs for hours.
And when I 330'd it.....

I severed the top third of my left index finger off working in the fur shed about 10 years ago. Whenever it gets below 32 degrees outside the finger hurts so bad it is almost unbearable. Neighbor farmer that I trap on his property did the same thing. He said to wear an oversized, insulated chopper mitten on that hand. It works perfectly. He claims it is verve damage that causes the pain. I just know it works.

I have a similar problem, yours might be worse.
I stuck my trigger finger into the blade of my table saw about three years ago. I was in a rush, its a dumb story about a dumb person. lol

anyway, once the temps get down around 20F / -6C it starts to ache, the longer I'm out the more it aches.
how I deal with it is I take a hand warmer and put it on top of my hand. either using a glove with a pocket in the top of it or if I'm switching gloves a lot I have a small pouch I sewed up and use medical tape to tape it to the top of my hand.
Your whole right arm will be warmer after about 10 minutes.
Don't put those little hand warmers in direct contact with your skin. they get really hot.
