All my bowstands are locked in frozen/iced snow.
Can't get in them without alerting deer.
Sucks!! Need some sunlight.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Heck no! 100# tanks are the only way to go. I had one big doe come charging out at 3 this afternoon with something obviously chasing her. Any other day I would have waited for the buck but I had already decided to fill a doe tag given the opportunity. She is fresh out of the corn field and fat as a hog!

I have nothing clever to put here.

I filled my Dad's tag last evening. Per his request. He set up in the Old Man Shack while I sat in an 18' ladder stand wind out of the West was brutal. Shot a doe for him.

Dad [83] was happy ...said Yahoo! Were done!

Thanks. I didn't even venture out this morning. I have been in the stand 15 days straight and put in over 100 hours. That is enough but being retired and having the time to do that is fantastic!

If your time is worth $15/hour you could have scored a half a beef for time served. Then again, at your age, your time isn't worth a plug nickel. That venison is a steal, in your case. grin

I am past that phase of my life. I almost always just rib shoot them. If the neighbors cows get out and into my apple trees again I am going to need some more freezers.

Good shooting, Rob!

Sunset will conclude my 50th season. The last day always gets me down. Good luck to all the guys and girls still out there for the 2022 finale.

I just started cleaning rifles and putting stuff away for the year. I left enough stuff out that if the urge strikes me I may go out for the final evening sit.

I think you should go. Show these young basement dwelling, Cheeto eatin', unemployed tards how it's done. That, and it's a lovely day to be outside.
