Looking for a good pair of knee pads, stay in place, and are comfortable.
Any recommendations?

Really the best are arc'teryx knee cap protectors if you do not have pants with knee pad pockets....those type pants are actually the best combined with foam or foam/plastic pads.

Second best strap on pad are the current gen us military ones...but the arc'teryx beat them by a mile.

I'll second the foam pads inside double front pants. Lightweight, barely know they are there. But they are always there.

I have a few coworkers that could write the book on knee pads. I'll ask them Monday.

Duluth trading makes a good pair, they stay in place all day. I am a roofer and wear them daily. Only con is that the contacting surface is hard plastic and does slide at times. I was told they make a pair that has a softer outer shell that grips everything but haven't found them yet

I switched to lighter weight kobalt knee pads from Lowe’s this year and I have liked them so far.

Kobalt tactical knee pad

There’s are light weight so they don’t try to sag down, have 2 straps instead of just one and have a buckle instead of velcro. They also are rounded. Other that I tried have a hard corner and would try to sift if you were kneeling at a angle on them.

The best I have found are as stated above, Army Surplus. Stay in place and do the job.
Lord knows how million dollars was spent on the research.
My only regret is I did not start wearing them 55 years ago.

Sew pockets from old jeans to the knee portion of your pants and insert a pad there. It works great and no sliding, pinching or cutting into you leg with no adjustment straps needed
