I used to fish with my great uncle who said you had to keep the first fish you caught for the day, if you let it go it would warn all the other fish. Cleaning fish it always seemed like there was a 3 inch bass or something because of this superstition.

Anyone else have a superstition or have heard of an odd one?

I'm not superstitious, but I'm a littlestitious. I don't press my luck by intentionally walking under a ladder, but I don't turn around if a black cat crosses my path.

Don't kill a cricket in your house cause the Cow will go dry.

Persimmon seed slit open in the fall will have a fork,knife or spoon.
Fork means mild winter, knife means harsh winter cutting like a knife, spoon means lots of snow.

I avoid 13 when building anything

Makes life rough when you remodel and the toilets down isle 13.

My Grandpa was a sailor so I grew up with some superstition. Some I still follow. Honestly I know it's bunk but in his memory I still do them.

When someone uses your pocket knife, whoever opens it, has to be the one to close it.

If you give a knife as a gift, or receive one, the person who was given the knife has to give the other person a penny so it's not truly a gift or the relationship will be severed.

Never start a major project on Friday or things will go bad on it over the weekends.

Me personally I have a thing about even numbers. I hate odd numbers. Even if I'm pumping gas I'll make sure it stops on an even amount of cents.

Everyone is a little bit. Even if they’re not aware of it. Lucky hat, favorite gun, knife, etc. All just tools, but we attach memories and meaning. Grab a Remington 870, any 870. No…I want my 870. Little superstitions don’t hurt nobody.

I won't let bananas on the boat I am on..... not because I am superstitious , but because I hate bananas.

I have a lucky deer hunting hat.
It is an absolute mess and disaster. My cousin told me to trash it one year. I told him I had killed more bucks wearing that hat than he had seen. He quieted down pretty quick, as the other hunters in deer camp agreed.
Still wear that hat, it’s been 39 years. It will be on my head in the morning.
