Brought some MB550s up with me when I moved from Pennsylvania to Alaska. Was wondering if anyone has experience using them for lynx or are they too small for a lynx’s large foot? Also was wondering what foot traps people prefer for lynx if I do buy new. Coil spring vs long spring, no. 3 or 4, any brand preferences? Thanks.

Lynx are not hard to hold, I prefer a 6"ish jaw spread. I've used different brands over the years coil springs, longsprings, and jumps and they all work fine. I've actually been using more 330's for lynx and it's always good practice to throw some snare's around your cubbies. What part of Pa. you from? [Linked Image]

Ok. Thanks for the reply. I was from NW Pennsylvania. About an hour south of Lake Erie.

Thousands of lynx caught in 3 and 4 dls traps.
I rarely set a foothold for lynx-prefer them dead, but last couple I set footholds for were in #3 vic softcatch.
Easy to make a cat step where you want.

The Ram power snare would work well on those cross eyed things.

MB 550 will hold them. But getting that big foot just right in the trap. I might go bigger but I have never caught one either. Released a big male bobcat the first part of the season here and his paw filled up the trap pretty good.
