Who is above the law and who feels others should carry all the tax load? Asking for a friend. I'm retired now but paying one heck of a lot of taxes compared to when I was working.

Sort of reminds me of the days when I was in the insurance industry. Some clients felt no guilt at all if they could screw their property insurer. They assumed that they were perfectly justified in lying on claims or applications.

Does it not bother you to give them money so they can (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) it away?

Surely not even you thinks this is about paying your "fair share"?

The big impact will be for those doing on line business and gig firms etc. The $600 is what the number has been for all the other 1099 forms so that is not a new number but the 1099K will impact several who were not under the 1099 umbrella before.

This is going to shaft a lot of people. If you ignore this it will generate a automatic tax audit (they need something for those 87,000 new agents to do). My daughter regularly borrows $3-400 in cash from me to buy hay for her horses, and then repays me using Zelle. Now Zelle is going to send a 1099k telling the IRS how much my daughter paid me back. Unless I can get Zelle to not issue the 1099k (good luck with that) I will have to then convince the IRS not to tax that amount (won't that be fun). While it will be easier to convince my daughter to change her ways it will only take twice during the year before I am forced to deal with the IRS.
