Looks like I'll be getting a used 4x4 and outfitting it for coyote control ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/11/full-48527-158839-screenshot_20221129_130711_chrome.jpg) So we can use lights and thermals on person or vehicle mounted. This is is excellent -Ken

I use them for nuisance work. You could get a depredation permit for them anytime you want. Just call your game warden and let him know what the issue is. They can write you one for the property you trap and you can necktie some dogs

I think this is a good change. I want to be able to legally use snares. X2 for regular fur season. I too use them for nuisance work and really like them. I've heard a rumor that cable restraints may be allowed next year.

I want to be able to legally use snares. Hopefully this is just the beginning and you gain a little until you are caught up with neighboring states

Well we did get body grips this year…sort of. and the western WMA's are now open the last month of the furbearer season. It's a start I guess

Sounds fun, but I’m guessing the average hunter doesn’t have the cash for a decent thermal. Well, maybe a single hunter or a “dink” (double income no kids) hunter with a good wife…lol

You can't use snares in Oklahoma to take coyotes...??? Not under a regular annual or lifetime license, but if you're licensed as a nuisance wildlife control operator you can use snares on a nuisance complaint.

How many you caught so far Ken? You selling any? I haven't decided what I will do with what I catch yet doesn't sound like I will make much money if I do sell any. As of this morning which is check day 14 I have 10 dogs. Ditched 3 skins and ripped the tail off of one with that new Stalker low ceiling skinner machine I have released 4 cats already and have 4 skunks in the freezer. I'm starting kinda slow for my 100 dogs number but I'm gonna hit it one way or the other. Once deer season is over I'll start nuisance work on the ranch and snare the fences and bait piles

You guys kill me sometimes, whats so excellent about killing animals at night with thermals? I understand the hogs, but coyotes just aren't the same no matter what why you wanna try to put it. You can't be pro trapping and think that thermal hunting at night is good, because ask anybody who used to trap for coyotes, they have been pushed out by people who already setup far better for night hunting than you are.
This is where we should say "hey the land owner wants coyotes dead, I like trapping and/or I like that I get paid to trap coyotes. I won't keep getting paid if I kill all the coyotes and/or somebody else kills them before me for less than I was getting paid." Lol. I get it, I mean I understand where you're coming from. I can't afford thermal either but I sure can't wait till I can. Lots of attractiveness to slaying night yotes with a thermal and 6.5cm. I guess if you're not into it it is what it is but night hunting is a heck of a good time And I'd love to take a stab at killing all the dogs in the area to see how fast the population reproduces

Mike I believe they won't ever allow snares and body grips without a permit, but the wardens are willing to issue a permit. Never had anyone turn me down
