"catch" is a pretty common term for killing a moose
I don't recall hearing "liquid water" but it is technically correct.Liquid is one state of water. Solid and gaseous are also correct I tried to understand that but I mist. 
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Water is also wet But there's no need to say "wet water" Non liquid water is Ice

To "catch" a moose/caribou, etc., is pretty much the universal term used in Alaska's villages. Maybe it's because the vast majority of animals harvested are "caught"; beaver, fish, muskrat, etc..

That’s the way people talk here. I had a native guy ask if the ice was frozen on the lake.
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
