danny is right the peroxcide and baking soda and dawn works great. my dog has gotten it 9 times in the last 2 years we're pros at getting her cleaned up now. one thing that really helps after you let the solution sit on them for 10 or 15 minutes. wipe them down with an old towel and then a good rinse. the thing we started doing the last couple times was blow drying the fur dry right away after rinsing and it is almost zero smell. good luck

Few months ago, my Mt Cur got after something on the back deck at 2 am. Possums commonly eat the catfood back there, and then pay for it with their lives. Whatever it was, under the grill. Poked it out with a broom handle. Dog came out shaking a skunk. I was five feet away in my underwear. Aussie got a dose, too. I got in showeor immediately - took about three of them with dawn and hyd peroxide and I wasnt bad. Washed the dogs a number of times and they were ready to come back in the house by evening

Anyone with pets should keep a bottle or two of this on hand. No mixing and no shelf life, just spray and done. I have carry a bottle in both of my vehicles for when Loki has a run in with a skunk and that is usually several times a year. Works best if you use it right away.
