Not sure if anybody remembers the photos of the etched glass that was in the door to this house but it finally caved. It does look as though the farmer got the glass out.

Wonder how many coon are in there.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Funny that's the first thing I thought of. Back in the day I would have been in there wiring them out of the walls, basement, etc.

Couple fusees will take care of that mess.

I always wonder about who built those old places and the people that lived there.

That was one thing I noticed when hunting Kansas. There were a lot of old abandoned houses, some looked like really nice houses at one time too. Some would even have full grown trees growing through them.

I remember when I was a kid, me and the old man squirrel hunted ever chance we could. One time he took me to a place I'd never been and it was full of gray squirrels, we both limited out.

He then started walking I knew it was away from the truck so I ask him where we were going. He said I want to show you something, the reason we hunted here today. It was the first house he lived in here in Ohio after Gpa left the coal mines and came up here and found work as a timber man.

It was deep in the woods and had cows and pigs running through it. A huge square house with a four sided roof and a belfry. I think it was around Tiverton. The old man got a bit melancholy and reminisced a bit and told a few stories. Then we went back to the truck as the bologna sandwiches were calling our name lol.

Anyway, I too, whenever I see a pic of a old place like Hobbie posted, think about the families that lived there and the memories the old place holds.

Some friends retired and moved into town and rented put the farm but left the buildings go. They had a beautiful stain glass window in their front door. I told them several times they should remove the window or it would grow legs and walk off. Several years later that's exactly what happened. By chance I noticed the window in an antique shop in a small town a few miles away. Notified my friends and the police got involved. Seemed the store owner was taking items from abandoned places from around the area.
