for those who are familiar with both, which do you prefer, and WHY?

my OnX subscription is expiring, so I'm thinking of trying HuntStand...

Also following, looking to purchase one of these apps.

Friend of mine uses Huntstand, and likes the extra features. He often sends me screen shots of maps, locations, etc.

However, personally, I’m not familiar with either.

I have HuntStand.
Very useful, and I have only figured out or used about 25% of it's capabilities.

If you hunt with a buddy each get one . I have hunt stand my son has onx Both have draw backs both have great features

I have both, but use OnX the most. I will switch over to HuntStand from time to time to “verify” or “double check” something. I really like OnX offline maps and tracking which I may be able to do with HuntStand and haven’t figured it out yet, lol. I do like being able to send and receive locations with friends while hunting.

I will add a 3rd. I use base maps. It works for my purposes but it's the only one I have experience with.

Does HuntStand offer a free app with all the annoying pop-ups - just so White Marlin can compare functionality? Just spit balling

I have onx, I haven't tried huntstand. What does huntstand have onx doesn't? I just use onx to mark location and stands and can share with hunting partners.

PC or mobile?

Because on PC you get the free 'whitetail activity chart'. On mobile you don't. We have had both and have switched to HuntStand.

I'll use it on BOTH.

HuntStand has the monthly sat images. They are a bit grainy but are updated about the 10th of each month to see new clearcuts, harvested crops, seasonal leaf growth and fall, etc.

HuntStand has a great tracking feature just as good as Onx.

HuntStand has the free version with ads.

I have the $30/version but there is a $70/version with a few other deer hunting features.

I use hunt stand. Mostly to identify property owners and lot lines for metal detecting.

I have Huntstand, basemap and OnX, but over the years I have found myself using BaseMap the most.

does BaseMap have landowner contact info?

Pretty sure all these apps have the same data they get from the same place so the only deciding factor is how the data is presented and the features.

Baseman will show owner name and mailing address.
