Don’t trust any of them implicitly. I’ve seen a couple people get nailed here for shooting elk in a closed area that those apps didn’t represent. Actually had one fella argue with me when he asked for permission to go across my place to shoot a bull he could see up on the hill. Thought I was just trying to keep him from hunting on public land. I told him to read the regs, which he did while sitting on the highway, and then drove off a believer.

How much out of state hunting do you do? And what sucks about OnX?
Not sure if HuntStand is capable, but I’ve sent precise locations of turkeys or where they were when I was in a particular State to members on here, and even though they were from another State it worked as advertised and they were able to find the exact landmarks I’d mentioned.
Just curious what you’re trying to do that makes you think or sucks?

Well I guess I should take that back. It uses way more internet and our internet sucks. I still think HuntStand is better.

But it does zoom in farther is you are online scouting, it helps alot!

I believe so also. Essentially the systems are GPS locators with property info laid over them. In some instances you can go the tedious route and pull up one current GPS map and another screen run GIS info and get what you need without using one of these apps. But once you use the apps you likely won't go back.

From what i've seen about everything will be able to fairly accurately pin point your current location on the map. You may be off a little but not much. However, beware of the property info. It is only as good as the GIS info which can be off in a number of ways.

Do any of them overlay property boundaries on your sightings mobile map? I use Huntstand mobile and knowing where I am relative to a boundary would be nice. Maybe I just have not discovered it yet or haven't paided enough.

Yeah, think they all do. I can pick a property and save it and always know where the boundary is. Actually I don’t even think I have to save it. I know OnX has all timber and government lands outlined when I pulled them up out in Washington and Idaho. I did drive around about 15min in Idaho trying to find an entrance gate, several spots were driveways, lol. But once I found it, it paid off.

Yes, I just hunted a piece my brother just bought.
I had no.idea where his property boundaries were.

So I located myself, blue dot inside boundary.
Still had last owners name, so hasn't been updated yet.
