52Carl trapper 5 Joined: Jan 2014 Virginia	I built a Remington 870 with a Hastings rifled cantilevered barrel and a thumbhole stock. I went with the thumbhole stock to prevent me from punching myself in the nose with my thumb while shooting 3 inch sabot slugs. I have a 1-4 power Leupold scope. 1 power for running shots with both eyes open in like watching it on TV. I have dumped deer with it out to 185 yards. You do need to know the hold over on long shots.

trapdog1 trapper T Joined: Feb 2015 Iowa	I've got an old Model 12 with a short barrel. It will put cheap Winchester slugs exactly where you want them. Good enough for me.
