I dont know how many of you have been a boss but to be effective and get your job done you have to have the cooperation of the people your in charge of. If people are not treated right they won't be productive or stick around very long. Free markets work best.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

i can assure you blain i aint no commie. the goal of any employee should be to do an honest days work for a fair wage, and secure retirement, after all, you'll be worn out by then. once i retire i can do more lucrative things like coyote trapping I am not saying you don't work hard. I am saying that unions and those in them are part of a system that stifles the free market AND supports politicians that want to raise my taxes, spend our money on welfare and take my guns. And, apparently, spend money bailing out union pensions--which is also welfare. Communists want to take other people's money, redistribute wealth, disarm the population and destroy the free market. I do wish you well in retirement trapping coyotes--you'll need that pension.

I lacked 600 hours to be vested with the carpenters union, that union work wasn’t for me. I should have gave you my extra time,,cause I worked TEN years more than I needed to, (only needed 30 years for full pension,),worked 40.,cause Im a lazy union communist according to some folks in here.

Unions in the South must be different than ones up North. Down here it doesn’t matter who you are, if you don’t/can’t do the job you’re gone, union or not. No they don’t like contractors, if the company needs contractors to do work then they can hire more employees. I can see the pros and cons of each side. But to hate on someone because they are or aren’t I don’t understand. I’d be happy to have a job, Union or not. No different here.Ignorant people think union members cant be fired. If you don't do your job here,,your gone.Union or not.

I'm belong to a union and I disagree one hundred percent with them bailing out the teamsters. Same argument I'm having with good plantation democrats on another site. Just swap out medicare/social security for union pensions.
You're all a bunch of so called God fearing patriots until it comes to your gimme money democrat programs.
Cut all ties and get this country back on track. I agree with you one hundred percent warrior, all these anti union old guys are going to scream to high heaven when Medicare and SS go tits up in a few years. Then they will expect their children and grand children to foot the bill. Wait and see.

My buddy has set in on some and the worker turned to him and said “Aren’t you going to prevent this from happening?” He laughed and said “If you don’t do your job, then there’s nothing I can do…sorry.”

Here are the top 20 labor PAC contributors to candidates in the 2020 election so far, and the political breakdown for where those dollars went — and it's not even close.

No. 5: International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers ● Total amount: $1,103,000 ● % to Dems: 96% ● % to GOP: 4%

No. 7: Laborers Union ● Total amount: $1,006,200 ● % to Dems: 80% ● % to GOP: 20%
No. 8: American Federation of State/County/Municipal Employees ● Total amount: $982,000 ● % to Dems: 99% ● % to GOP: 1%
No. 9: Machinists/Aerospace Workers Union ● Total amount: $970,000 ● % to Dems: 96% ● % to GOP: 4%
No. 10: Teamsters Union ● Total amount: $936,055 ● % to Dems: 97% ● % to GOP: 3%
No. 11: Plumbers/Pipefitters Union ● Total amount: $865,800 ● % to Dems: 80% ● % to GOP: 20%

No. 14: Seafarers International Union ● Total amount: $740,750 ● % to Dems: 52% ● % to GOP: 47%
No. 15: Painters & Allied Trades Union ● Total amount: $711,600 ● % to Dems: 88% ● % to GOP: 10%
No. 16: United Food & Commercial Workers Union ● Total amount: $705,400 ● % to Dems: 100% ● % to GOP: 0%
No. 17: National Assn of Letter Carriers ● Total amount: $670,000 ● % to Dems: 79% ● % to GOP: 21%

No. 20: National Education Assn ● Total amount: $500,350 ● % to Dems: 97% ● % to GOP: 3% Looks like the GOP is pretty useless winning over the workers. They need to get organized.

Comparing SS and union pensions is apples and oranges, both are ponsi schemes but one is mandated the other not so much. My pension will be around a lot longer than any of the retirement benefits you offered your employees. Given a choice I buy nonunion , local owned prefer sole proprietor businesses made products and services and will go out of my way to cross picket lines. My opinion is they didn't start their business to make you rich and if the law wasn't written like it is unions would and should have been busted along time ago. Don't you work for the government. That's rich,

I did a lot of hauling on a big highway job, off and on last couple of years. Hauling for a NON union company outta MO. Emery Sapp and Sons. Good bunch of guys. We got a lot of hours. Built a lot of highway. Hwy 169 between Garnett KS and Chanute KS. Got paid good money. Was that Hwy 169 project a prevailing wage job?
