So I'm a lazy p.o.s. for belonging to a union?

i can assure you blain i aint no commie. the goal of any employee should be to do an honest days work for a fair wage, and secure retirement, after all, you'll be worn out by then. once i retire i can do more lucrative things like coyote trapping

I lacked 600 hours to be vested with the carpenters union, that union work wasn’t for me.

Unions in the South must be different than ones up North. Down here it doesn’t matter who you are, if you don’t/can’t do the job you’re gone, union or not.
No they don’t like contractors, if the company needs contractors to do work then they can hire more employees. I can see the pros and cons of each side. But to hate on someone because they are or aren’t I don’t understand. I’d be happy to have a job, Union or not.

Comparing SS and union pensions is apples and oranges, both are ponsi schemes but one is mandated the other not so much.

Given a choice I buy nonunion , local owned prefer sole proprietor businesses made products and services and will go out of my way to cross picket lines. My opinion is they didn't start their business to make you rich and if the law wasn't written like it is unions would and should have been busted along time ago.

I did a lot of hauling on a big highway job, off and on last couple of years. Hauling for a NON union company outta MO. Emery Sapp and Sons. Good bunch of guys. We got a lot of hours. Built a lot of highway. Hwy 169 between Garnett KS and Chanute KS. Got paid good money.
